4 Weeks To Go!

There's 4 weeks until we officially open DREAM Academy! :)

The room is ready, curriculum is picked out, lessons plans are finished, faith is high and we are excited.

All that's left now is lots of prayer, practice communicating & bonding and 4 weeks of boot camp to break some bad summer habits we have gotten into.  Since ALL 3 kiddos will be home all day long, it's gonna be very important that we have some good routines in place to keep the day flowing smoothly & Mommy as leader.

This week we are tackling the eat-whenever-you-want-habit.  I can't even believe how many times I turn around and somebody has opened the pantry or fridge and is standing there gazing.  My children really do thrive on routine and to know what is expected so I am ready to have some order. :)   I know our personalities and that the structure coming our way next month is going to be great for all of us!   Apparently I've allowed them to snack wherever and whenever, all day -  so that is going to stop.

This morning so far, we worked hard on filling our bellies at our breakfast so that we could last until 10 am snack.  Then we made it til lunch time and will snack again around 2:30 or 3 to last until our typical 5pm dinner.  So far I've only had to shoo them away a few times and they were very compliant and happy to conquer this mission with me.  It's amazing what talking things out beforehand will do.  (In BSF we would call that, "setting the limits")

The week of the 4th, we tackle too-much-TV-syndrome.  We will cut out TV first thing in the morning and will practice waking up to either books, laying down or resting.  Then after a few days of that, we will only do television in the afternoon rest times.

The week of the 11st I really want to try my best to get Annabelle potty trained. Daddy has off of school that week so having him home after work each night and fully available will be important so I can rest in the evenings after training all day :)

The week of the 18th it's our last hurdle which is tablet/computer fast and saving those for rainy days, maybe late afternoons and weekends.

That's the PLAN at least :)  I am sure this will be great practice at making goals and plans, doing our best and accepting when things don't go perfectly.
